Wind Energy Supplier Development

There is a lot of energy in the wind-energy industry and it's not Hot Air. The wind energy industry is rapidly growing, and the US government is accelerating that growth with incentives and grants. According to the Advanced Energy Initiative AEI "areas with good wind resources have the potential to supply up to 20% of the electricity consumption of the United States." Read More.. The WindPower 2009 Expo/Conference in Chicago (May 4-7) was huge, and more expos are popping up everywhere in 2009 and 2010.

Many suppliers want to expand into the wind energy industry. To be able to do that, they need to make changes and upgrades in several areas. ESC -in cooperation with TQS- is offering a supplier development program to help them get ready. The program includes training and assistance in wind-energy product development process, OEM requirements, governmental regulations, and quality standards. If you are interested in the program please calls us or send email to info@pdexcellence.com

Because production volumes in the Wind Industry (OEMs) is low compare to other industries (e.g., Automotive), and because each component has to be almost perfect, the approach to quality is different. According to Mr. Wigberto Narvaez, Purchasing Manager for turbine manufacturer Nordex: "The wind industry is different from other industries in that we do not produce items in the thousands. In wind, our needs are for a precious few, and . Wind Turbines are investment goods that need to operate reliably and continuously for more than 20 years. Nordex has narrow, defined, precise tolerances that need to be met, and failure to do that could be catastrophic."

How can you use EqMARS in manufacturing?

http://eqmars.com

There many uses for EqMARS software. Even though the system is designed for managing office equipment (such as computers, projectors, cameras, etc..), there are other uses specific to product development such as:

Research Laboratory - manage lap equipment and testing chemicals and materials

Vehicle maintenance shop/garage - manage tools used by mechanics or technicians to service vehicle fleets for large companies (where they have fleets). Many companies use common tool crib where the mechanics check out tools for specific number of hours or days.

Medical Devices and Orthopedics Industries

Medical Devices and Orthopedics industries continue to grow by about 6-9% annually. This is due to the increasing need for advanced medical technology, and an aging US population that needs orthopedics implants. Several orthopedics companies are growing from being contract manufacturers to providing prototypes, then later they provide design services, and for some they become full-service design suppliers that provide integrated/outsourced development projects to orthopedic OEMs. Another area of growth is the pediatric orthopedics. We are serving all sectors of orthopedics and medical devices.

Our PD Services are broad-based and cover three main elements:
1) Process – activity detail, sequence, owners, integration, etc..
2) People – organizational communication, people skills, resource management, etc..
3) Tools/Technology – concept tools, project tools, and advanced tools

We provide training/workshops in best practices & improvements in support of product commercialization and the implementation of PD model we develop for our clients.
